Hang onto your florals! The winter bloom is back courtesy of a brilliantly botanical show from London Fashion Week veterans Clements Ribeiro

Winter flowers bloomed as Clements Ribeiro delivered the good news that some of summer's favourite trends are strong enough to make it through to the next season.

Luckily for us, that means carefully chosen purchases this season could see you through the summer and into the winter months.

Known for their clever use of print, the duo presented a feast for the eyes of reworked up-to-the minute graphic prints interwoven with floral motifs and decorated with this season's favourite accessory: jewelled collars.

Bloomin' marvellous: Clements Ribeiro went heavy on the florals but shied away from traditional prettiness, instead giving them a graphic edge

Along with presenting the sleepy audience with a garden's worth of florals, the duo also ensured that the flattering peplum dress will have a life beyond the end of this season, keeping the peplum trend rolling for September and beyond.

A pretty contrast floral version appeared in a show that was rich in colour and texture.

With bold use of contrasting fabrics and design, floral mini skirts sat below graphic print sweaters adorned with sparkly embellished collars, and an animal print bomber jacket was teamed with a floral embroidered skirt.

Bright lace and tartan also appeared when retro styles were referenced with a plaid kilt that would have been happy in the days of Punk rock and a 50's style floral Doris Day prom style dress.

Well cut and practical black coats were given a contemporary twist with beaded back strap or buckle fastening.?

For a contemporary twist floral panels or sleeves were added to black tops and cardigans or contrasted together.

A taste of the orient was hinted at thanks to the duo's use of black brocade fabric embroidered with large gold flowers and slim Suzy Wong fitted dresses with stand up jewelled collars.

Balancing the feast of colour were practical lace up brogues - another enduring trend - and flat pixie boots, including some reworked into silver and metallic versions for evening.
