I know how it is to feel your list is growing at a snail?s pace. But once you start tracking, you actually start to see that progress and it all adds up over time! So, here is how to track your list building growth in Aweber ? thankfully it?s quick and easy to do.
How often should you do this??It?ll help?not to check too often ? if you do, you might feel things are going slowly. I recommend checking in once a month in normal situations, or more frequently if you?re making specific efforts to grow your list.
The Simplest Method: Note Down Your Monthly Totals
Something I?m trying, in an effort to show myself how far I?ve come, is to make a monthly note of how many subscribers I have. This is quick and easy to do. Just set aside a date each month (e.g. the first) to note down the current size of each of your list. You can quickly view the size of each of your lists from the Aweber dashboard:
Remember,?slow and steady?does?win the race?(as cheesy as that sounds), so tracking in this way will remind you that things are moving upwards when you start to lose faith.
See More Details By Using Aweber?s Reporting Tools
The simplest way to track how your list is growing is to login to Aweber and view reports:
Step 1:?Navigate to the reports area and choose to view either a daily, weekly or monthly report.

Step 2:?Check your report and see how far you?ve come!?Here?s my report from the last week for this blog?s mailing list?
Where On Your Site Did Your Subscribers Come From?
It can be helpful to know where your subscribers signed up on your site so you know what works best. For example, I can see from my stats how many people signed up on my sidebar, vs. how many people signed up on my Subscribe page. Here?s how to do that?
Step 1:?Create a new webform, or select a current web form if you?ve already got one set up.
Step 2:?Go through the design phase, then on step 2, click ?Advanced? options, and enter your own tracking label in the ?Ad Tracking? box. I usually choose a simple one like ?sidebar?, ?footer? or ?subscribe page?:
Step 3:?Then, to see how many people are signing up through each, go back to the Aweber reports section, and choose ?Ad Tracking ? Subscribed?:
?
You?ll then see a graph showing where people signed up. Here?s mine:
Advanced Aweber Tracking Options
Aweber has loads of reports available, and I recommend using these in time to check how things are going with your mailing efforts.
They can tell you how many people open your emails (you want a really high percentage on the first ?welcome? email, and you can use your stats to tweak it), how many people are unsubscribing, how many clicks you get, where your subscribers are from and much more.
I definitely recommend using these options in time to see how well certain subject lines perform, which topics your subscribers like best, or how your list building efforts are paying off after a certain method of getting new subscribers, but for now the tracking methods I listed above are a great way to get started.
Remember, tracking not only helps you to?improve?and streamline your list building efforts, it helps keep you motivated!
My question to you: Are you tracking your list building efforts? Are you making progress?
