Earl and Jo Anne Jackson, Calera, Oklahoma, are being honored with a family dinner in celebration of their 65th wedding anniversary. Hosts were family members.
The Jacksons were married July 2,, 1948, in the home of the bride?s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.K. Moss in Calera.
They were Calera High School classmates graduating in 1946. They also are graduates of Southeastern with Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education. Earl taught Social Studies, Industrial Arts, and Girls Basketball, a career of 34 years. Jo Anne taught high school English in Calera and Composition at Southeastern. She retired after 26 years.
Earl Jackson, born to Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Jackson, in Calera is a veteran of the U.S. Army of Occupation (WWII), then recalled for combat duty in the Korean War, serving in Heavy Tank Co., 180th Battalion, 45 Division.
Mr. Jackson enjoys gardening and fishing; Jo Anne?s pastimes are Reading, Duplicate Bridge, and Creative Writing. They are members of the Church of Christ.
The Jacksons have two sons: John Jackson and family Monica Shipman (husband Josh), and Drew Jackson (wife Kasey). Their son Kevin Jackson and wife Teri have two daughters: Krystal Jackson and Kara Williams (husband Bruce). There are two great grandsons, Jackson Williams and Nash Williams.
