Michigan center David Molk isn?t lacking for confidence.

Prior to the Scouting Combine, Molk said he could break the event?s all-time record in the bench press, and although he fell short of that (finishing with 41 repetitions of 225 pounds, good for second-best this year), he?s continuing to talk himself up after the Combine.

Told by an AnnArbor.com reporter that most draftniks rank him as anywhere from the second-best to the sixth-best center in this year?s draft, Molk took exception to that. Molk, who won the Rimington Trophy as the best center in college football, says he?s clearly No. 1.

?The fact they could consider any center better than me is pretty stupid,? Molk said.

NFL Network?s Mike Mayock recently called Molk ?very much a finesse guy,? and Molk took issue with that.

?He never played against me,? Molk said of Mayock. ?I don?t think a finesse player has ever had defensive linemen quit during a game; quit and give up because you?re hurting them. I don?t think a finesse player has ever done what I do, which is just ground kids out of the hole. I think the fact he called me a finesse player is because he hasn?t watched me on film.?

Most draft analysts believe Wisconsin?s Peter Konz is the top center in the draft, and Molk takes issue with that, too.

?I have skills he doesn?t have,? Molk said of Konz. ?Obviously, my strength is far better, I?m faster, I would say I?m smarter. Obviously, he?s an intelligent person, I?ve talked to him, but I just think I have a technique that?s unmatched.?

Molk was voted to several All-America teams, but Konz beat him out as an All-American on the vote taken by college football coaches. Molk said ?stuff like that pisses me off.?

It also pisses Molk off that another Big Ten center, Ohio State?s Mike Brewster, is ranked ahead of him in many draft rankings.

?He is nowhere near me as a player,? Molk said of Brewster.

If there?s an NFL team out there wanting a center who?s strong in the weight room and cocky off the field, Molk is your man.

An editor friend found 12 typos in the first version of The Expendable Man. That?s not a terrible number, but I?m trying very hard to do even better in this new book. (Some typos are a matter of style or involve conflicting opinions on the rules of grammer. I?m not talking about those. Rather I mean when a word remains in the text that should have been removed when a sentence was edited or when the spell checker accepted later when you meant latter, etc.)

Making the Grade is a police procedural mystery with a twist. You learn what you think is the identity of the villain in the first chapter, but be aware ? all is not what it seems. A visitor need help to answer a question about Tv show for DIY home improvement?. i remeber a show that was diy and told you how to make tv cabinets and such. does anybody know the show?

I?ll try to answer your question?
The only shows I have ever seen that showed you how to make cabinets or anything only showed you what they made and the basic large steps. I have never seen a show that went into what I considered enough detail to teach anyone how to build anything.

I think that most shows that do show ?how to build? are designed for people that already know how to do basic woodworking. I say this as I am am experienced cabinet maker and know all the little steps they leave out.

I would suggest a good book with illustrations and take your time and practice on a smaller project first. It is almost as easy as they make it look on TV, the key is time and patients.

When teacher Ann Wittman?s ?Explore Program: Reaching for the Stars? business class had to set up a business, The Top 10 Variety Store, where the children produced home made items such as beaded bracelets, headbands, magnets, paper flowers, and comic strips, was an easy decision. Deciding what to do with the profits, however became a bit of a debate.

?The business gave the students a wonderful opportunity to experience first hand the many decisions that need to be made when starting a business, road blocks to work around, team work as well as all the intricacies that come from having a business,? said Wittman. ?One of the questions that needed to be answered was what to do with the profit from the business. The students discussed several possible recipients (one of which was themselves).?

One of the students reminded the class that there are people in need and eventually the students decided to donate their profits evenly amongst four different causes.

?One of the top four recipients was to aid Japan,? said Wittman. ?Specifically how this was to be done was left up to me, the teacher, because the school year had come to an end. I believe I heard of CannedWater4kids (CW4K) on a local news station. It tied in not only in giving relief to Japan, but our 3rd quarter Explore Program with the 3rd and 4th graders was on clean water and the diseases etc. that people incur when there is a lack of clean drinking water. Pacific Gas And Electric Claims Settlement Talks Back On Track For San Bruno Victims

SAN FRANCISCO ? The city of San Bruno said Wednesday settlement talks were back on track with Pacific Gas & Electric Co. about compensation for a deadly gas pipeline explosion after the city held a morning press conference announcing the collapse of negotiations.

PG&E Senior Vice President Greg Pruett, however, said the company had always been willing to talk and set up a Friday meeting to continue settlement discussions.

Officials in the San Francisco suburb want the utility to make good on its promise to pay restitution for the September 2010 blast that laid waste to a quiet subdivision overlooking the San Francisco Bay.

San Bruno Mayor Jim Ruane said city officials have been negotiating a confidential settlement with PG&E executives, including President Chris Johns, since last fall. But Ruane said the utility abruptly walked away from the negotiating table last week.

"We want PG&E to recognize and pay restitution for the great tragedy they caused in San Bruno and help restore our community," Ruane said. "The consequences of this tragedy will not fade."

Pruett held a conference call Wednesday and said the company had planned to set up a meeting with San Bruno officials before the city announced its concerns. He added that Johns left last week's meeting with local administrators believing negotiations were moving toward a resolution.

"What we really are committed to doing is continuing to sit down with the city representatives and senior leaders," Pruett said. "We both have the same strong, passionate desire to resolve this and address the needs of the residents of San Bruno quickly."

San Bruno spokesman Sam Singer said he was surprised to hear the utility remained open to negotiations, and was pleased to hear company executives would rejoin San Bruno officials at the table, nearly a year and a half after the accident.

City officials also filed a petition with the California Public Utilities Commission asking to become part of its probe into whether PG&E should be fined for the explosion, which they see as another possible path to collecting restitution. The commission did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Any settlement would be in addition to a trust fund PG&E created to pay up to $70 million to help the city cover the cost of rebuilding. The company also set up a $100 million fund to support emergency needs in the aftermath of the accident on Sept. 9, 2010.

Federal accident investigators lay the blame on PG&E for the explosion, saying a litany of failures led to the blast, which they concluded wasn't the result of a simple mechanical failure but rather an "organizational accident."

Escaping gas fed a pillar of flame 300 feet tall for more than 90 minutes before workers were able to manually close valves that cut off gas to the ruptured pipeline. Investigators said the damage would have been less severe had automatic valves been in place.

Dozens of people were injured and more than 100 homes were destroyed or damaged in the bedroom community.

BANGKOK ? The homemade bombs discovered in a Bangkok house after a series of blasts in the city were similar to devices used against Israeli Embassy targets in India and Georgia, Israel's ambassador said Wednesday, building on his country's claims the incidents are part of a covert terror campaign by Iran.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast called the allegations against it "baseless," saying Israel was trying to damage its relations with Thailand.

Thai authorities are interrogating two Iranians who were arrested Tuesday after explosives ignited, apparently by accident, in a house they were renting in Bangkok.

On Wednesday, Thai immigration police chief Lt. Gen. Wiboon Bangthamai said a third suspect who fled the destroyed house was in Malaysia after boarding a flight bound for Kuala Lumpur Tuesday night. He identified the man as Zedhaghat Zadech Masoud, but had no other details.

Israel has accused Iran of waging a campaign of state terror and has threatened military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran has blamed the Jewish state for the recent killings of Iranian atomic scientists and has denied responsibility for all three plots this week.

On Monday in New Delhi, an explosion tore through an Israeli diplomat's car, wounding the driver and a diplomat's wife, according to Indian officials. Authorities in the former Soviet republic of Georgia say an explosive device was planted on the car of a driver for the Israeli Embassy the same day, but it was discovered and defused before it went off.

Israeli Ambassador Itzhak Shoham told The Associated Press that Thai police found and defused two magnetic bombs that could be stuck on vehicles after Tuesday' blasts.

"They are similar to the ones used in Delhi and in Tbilisi," Shoham said. "From that we can assume that there is the same network of terror."

That, and the arrest of two Iranians in Thailand "again leaves not too much room to assume who was behind it," Shoham said.
